How Stripe Connect payouts work for SDK partners
GetPassive pays SDK partners through Stripe Connect because it gives developers a familiar payout system, clear account status, and structured bank transfer handling. Instead of asking for bank details over email or sending manual transfers, the console sends you to Stripe, where you complete onboarding securely and manage payout requirements.
After your developer account is approved, the console will show a Stripe Connect onboarding step. You follow the link, confirm whether you are an individual or business, and provide the information Stripe asks for. This may include legal name, address, bank account details, tax information, and identity checks. The exact fields depend on your country and account type.
Once onboarding is complete, the console can show that payouts are enabled. If Stripe needs more information later, the status can change to action required. This is normal. Payment providers often request updated details when account activity grows or when rules change.
GetPassive uses a monthly payout cadence. During the month, your dashboard shows estimated earnings from valid SDK activity. At the end of the period, activity is reviewed and finalized. The finalized amount is then prepared for payout. When the payout is sent, the dashboard status changes so you can track it.
A monthly cadence keeps reporting clean. It gives time for quality checks, reduces small payment noise, and makes it easier for developers to reconcile revenue in their own books. It also avoids the uncertainty of manual transfers that depend on someone processing each payment by hand.
Your bank account must be supported by Stripe Connect for your region and currency. Use an account that belongs to you or your business, with details that match the information provided during onboarding. Incorrect routing numbers, closed accounts, mismatched names, or unsupported account types can lead to payout failure.
Stripe determines available currencies by country and account type. In many cases, payouts are sent in the local currency of the connected bank account. Currency conversion, if any, is handled through Stripe according to its rules and fees. The console focuses on payout status and finalized earnings rather than promising a specific currency outcome for every country.
If a payout fails, first check the console status. It may show action required. Then open Stripe Connect and review bank details, verification requests, and any account alerts. Most payout failures are caused by missing information or incorrect bank details. After the issue is fixed, the payout can be retried according to the normal process.
Ad-hoc wire transfers are slow, hard to audit, and often require sensitive bank details to be handled manually. Stripe Connect gives both sides a better record of account status, payout attempts, and required information. It also supports a cleaner developer experience: onboard once, keep your details up to date, and receive monthly payouts when finalized earnings are available.
